Twisted Yellow – Akshat Rustagi

I lie awake, avoiding the morning light.

All alone, another sleepless night.

New day dawning, another day of solitaire.

Going through old pictures,

I close my eyes as I am pulled from this world

and I watch my life unwind like a ribbon unfurled.

Forgotten in the haze of past

In my thoughts, hidden a necropolis of dreams,

filled with dead hopes, echoing & ghostly screams.

And as the sun rises and it becomes bright,

I realize that everyday’s a fight.

Let my soul not be bonded forevermore

by ancient pasts and forgotten lore.
