Are you on a budget but at the same time hungry as hell and have the urge for a spicy meal? Well then this is the right spot for you. Nestled alongside Balmatta road, just past Jyothi circle, you’ll find Kudla family restaurant, the solution to your tasteful needs.
Kudla means Mangalore in Tulu and this cozy yet spacious restaurant despite the poor lighting is suitable for outings with family or even friends since no one complains about how much noise you make. It serves a variety of cuisines like North Indian i.e. Punjabi, Rajasthani, South Indian, Chinese etc. and is well known as the non vegetarians’ paradise! Its vegetarian dishes are not so great and therefore it would not be worth spending on.
The best thing about this place is the quantity of a single item on the menu, which is enough for two people most of the time. Simultaneously the non-veg food is exceptionally brilliant, full of spices and bursting with flavor, making you want to eat your own fingers.
As for personal suggestions,
For Starters; juicy Chicken Malai Kebabs and Chicken Tikka Kebabs with green chutney and onion rings will just get your taste buds adapted to the upcoming influx of spices.
Main Course; Garlic Naans, Chicken Ghee Roast, by far the best in the city and Murg Mussalem gives a rich Moghul addition to your meal. The Chicken Biriyani here is not so recommended as its mild on the spices and doesn’t have much flavor.
As for desserts; too the restaurant hasn’t got much to offer other than your standard Indian sweets and Ice creams so there isn’t anything too special about them. Although after such a heavy meal, if one would like, mutka kulfi would go great for desserts.
They also have a variety of great fruit juices and milk shakes here that you might want to try out. The price range of the menu is pretty reasonable considering the quantity served and a meal for two would not cost more than Rs 500. Also the service here is good and fast.
