JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis – January 9th (Morning Shift)
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Toughest Section: Physics
- Easiest Section: Chemistry, most of the questions were from the NCERT textbook.
- Additional Comments: Maths was relatively easier but time-consuming.
JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis – January 9th (Afternoon Shift)
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Toughest Section: Physics
- Easiest Section: Chemistry
- Additional Comments: In the Maths section, most of the questions were from Vector, 3D, Arithmetic Progression, Probability, etc.
JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis – January 8th (Morning Shift)
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Toughest Section: Physics
- Easiest Section: Chemistry, but tougher than usual. Had a lot of questions from Inorganic Chemistry.
- Additional Comments: Maths was time-consuming. Numerical value-based questions in Maths were a bit easier.
JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis – January 8th (Afternoon Shift)
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Toughest Section: Physics, more conceptual questions.
- Easiest Section: Chemistry
- Additional Comments: Considerable number of questions in the Physics section were from electromagnetism. Organic Chemistry ruled the Chemistry section.
JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis – January 7th (Morning Shift)
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Toughest Section: Physics/ Maths
- Easiest Section: Chemistry
- Additional Comments: Lots of questions in Maths were taken from parabola, quadratic equations, permutation and combination, probability, circles, etc. while in Physics, most of the questions were from wave optics, resistance, projectile, modern physics, magnetic field, etc.

- Difficulty: Moderate
- Toughest Section: Physics
- Easiest Section: Chemistry, most of the questions were from the NCERT textbook.
- Additional Comments: Physics comprised tough Numerical value-based questions. Organic Chemistry dominated in the Chemistry section.
JEE Main 2020 Paper Analysis – January 6th
Paper 2 (B. Arch and B. Planning) was conducted on 6th January. As per the candidates, the difficulty level of the B. Arch exam was average. Most of the questions were built on the concepts given in the textbooks. The difficulty level of Maths was average, according to most of the students.
Now that we have seen the exam paper analysis, let’s now talk about the JEE Main eligibility criteria. It has been published by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
JEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality:
- Citizens of India. Foreign nationals and NRIs, PIOs, OCIs can also apply.
2. Age Limit:
- General Category Candidates: born on or after 1st of October 1995
- For SC, ST and PwD candidates: born on or after 1st of October 1990
3. Total Number of Attempts:
- Three consecutive attempts for JEE Main
- Two consecutive attempts for JEE Advanced
4. Subjects In The Qualifying Exam:
- It is a must for the candidates to have pursued at least 5 subjects along with Physics and Maths as core subjects.
5. Year Of Passing The Qualifying Exam:
- Students who have qualified their Class 12 (or equivalent exam) in 2018 or 2019 and the ones who are appearing for Class 12 (or equivalent exam) this year are allowed to appear for this exam; provided the respective result must be declared before June 15th 2020.
6. Marks Eligibility:
- For General Category: minimum of 75% marks in Class 12
- For Reserved Category: minimum of 65% marks in Class 12
