Have we run out of words, sentences, paragraphs and ideas.
A man who wears his underwear outside will remain a man who wears his underwear outside though in the new one. I have heard he has learned to correct his mistake! Can we not think of a new hero, a new idea, a new fashion statement. At the rate at which are going we will get a new Spiderman, a new Batman, a new Wonder Woman, a new Hulk, a new …. which actually are not new … how exciting is that?
Why can’t we think of stories which are anti-super heroes.
For e.g. think of a character Inferiorman who has super powers in normal times, like flying to work daily but in time of crisis when a robbery happens he has to take a taxi cab which gets stuck in traffic, but loses them during crisis.
Or the new age Spiderman who is environment conscious and only spins cotton thread webs and gets employed by Khadi Gram Udyog as the main spinner of kurtas. Or for that matter Batsman who comes to the cricket stadium in a city bus everyday with his helper Robins and fights the betting mafia using his cricket bat.
I would also love to read a new story starring Bulk, a cousin of Hulk; Dogman, an ex boyfriend of Catwoman; Y-Men = a + bX-Men, a story about linear translators of the X-mean who have been trained in the dying art of statistical inference; Irony Man, a story full of puns, punks, penny pinching, puny, pan card carrying, philandering, prankster.
All you writers wake up.
