West Bengal is well known for its richness in sweet market.Their mastery in making liquid mixed extremely sweet eateries is unreproducible.’Rosogolla’ and ‘Sondesh’ constitute a major part of them.1st capture below is of dry variety of ‘Sondesh’ which was brought by our colleague Dr Samik, when he returned from home. But it didn’t meet expectations of food fans(we people) as we expected something liquid and extremely sweet.Anyway the major drawback of Bengali sweets is that you cannot keep it for long.So quite understandable that Samik didn’t bring them.
When given a close look one can appreciate a typical fish-shape of ‘Sondesh’ reflecting the importance of fish in Bengali food.
