Mosquitoes have been successfull cretures in proving there presense in manipal and probably in whole of Karnataka state.Malaria and filaria are quite common here.So for visitors who are intending to be a student here are advised to take a malaria vaccine and filarial prophylaxis.Recently Government has launched here filarial prophylaxis programme in form of free distribution of DEC tablets to each and every department and each and every student through Preventive and Social Medicine department.
Their programme might be a success in a view of nearly 100% distribution but to be very frank compliance of people is quite a less even in medical faculty I don’t know why.
