This website, ManipalBlog.com is only one of the five websites put out for and by the students of Manipal. Other websites include “The Manipal Journal”, Manipal The Talk, Manipal Plex, and IManipal.
The Manipal Journal, is the only news website from Manipal with over 1500 story views per day. The Manipal Journal is a weekly updated News Website, and is a part of MediaWorks News services. Started in September 2007, The Manipal Journal aims at bringing News from all over Manipal to our readers. Their mission -“Unbiased Ethical Journalism. A rare find in media these days.” They operate during the semester seasons and take a break in between semesters.
Manipal The Talk, is allegedly Manipal University’s only Unofficial webspace discussing the latest happenings around college and wassup in Manipal. That is how they call themselves. This webspace is created to unite all of Manipal together and get us to the same platform…know whats going in Manipal , around Manipal whats going on with events , clubs and all the stuff. An upcoming web-space, with very active and dynamic team, this is one to keep an eye on!
i Manipal, not to be confused with a Steve Jobs creation, is an initiative for the students of the university town of Manipal.The site is loaded with information related to Admission Help, Places to Visit, Fest Updates,College News,Campus Talk etc. After a rather strong start, this web-space is in a bit of stagnation after the students who started this, shifted out to further their careers. They do however have quite a good number of informative posts and do occasionally update the site.
ManipalPlex, is the student run weblog & information portal of Manipal University. Contains University, Alumni News, Campus Talk etc. The aim of Manipal Plex is to form a common network where under graduates, post graduates, professors, alumni can interact and get to know the latest information w.r.t the university news, club news, fest updates, campus talk etc.
ManipalBlog.com, started out as a blog by two Pharmacology post-graduate students in the Kasturba Medical College. We have now expanded, to include bloggers from every institution in Manipal run by the Manipal University. In addition, there are some bloggers from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, MMMC Malaysia and other places where there are MU run institutes. We started out as “The Unofficial Manipal University Blog” in May, 2007. We decided to drop the Unofficial and University tag early this year, so as to include local residents of Manipal, who wanted to express themselves through our Blog/Web-space.
