It has been almost a year since I finished my final year MBBS exams. Everyone was so saturated after the exam that they needed a break. Almost everyone had their plans of how to take out this frustration. Some wanted to go home as soon as possible, while half of the batch left to Goa in groups.
However, me and two of my friends decided that we would go on a roadtrip which would include one of the most beautiful places as you will see further below.
We started our journey at around 5.30AM on our bikes and our first stop was Moodbidri. The sun had not risen yet but the dawn had already broken. As we climbed up the hills, the sun also started to rise and we stopped at a point where the view was great.
Then we further moved towards karkala, which is a town of historical importance and a pilgrim centre for Jains. The single stone 42-foot (13 m) statue Gomateshwara (Lord Bahubali) is located about 1 km from the center of the town and is the second tallest in Karnataka. We saw the temple and by this time we were kinda hungry and decided to eat something on the way.
After eating we moved on to Sita Falls which was a hell-u-va ride. There is a temple arch which is the only way to recognize the way towards the falls, otherwise you can always ask the locals.
If you are travelling by a car or bus, be warned that the trek is about 2 hours in each direction. However since we had our bikes, we drove on the rough terrain and reached a point where the trek was reduced to only half an hour each way. The trek from here is no way easy, it very rocky, slippery at times, and if you don’t follow the footsteps, you might lose your way too. But what awaits for you at the end of the trek is an awesome waterfall with cold water, serene view and a place where you can relax as much as you can.
We stayed there for 2-3 hrs and then we headed towards Agumbe. But what happened there, you will get to know later. Till then keep watching this space!
