Bollywood film review: “Warning”

A still from hindi movie 'Warning'

Guys, be warned. This is a movie for all the film making course students on how NOT to make a film.
This movie, directed by Gurmeet Singh and star casting new ‘talents’ actually ended up in a bunch of perfectly chiseled bodies who lack expression of emotions and a decent acting skill.
The film is a remake of a Hollywood film Open Sea 2. It starts with a reunion of friends in Fiji. Tanveer, who pretends to own the yacht, is the host and takes them to a ride in the ocean. The setting initially seems spectacular but as the movie progresses with senseless dialogues and useless conversations, boredom starts taking over.

With the smallest of screw-ups on Tanveer’s part and all his mates (and himself) are in the sea helpless for hours. Accompanied by some unnecessary songs in the middle, the film does not seem to end. To add to the drama and to increase the gravity of the situation, the sea was shown to be infested with sharks.

If you are expecting a sweet and happy ending, then picking another movie might fulfill your expectations. The movie just ends with a few getting saved, others getting lost and the rest dying in the middle of their struggle to survive.

It was a  failure on the part of the director and the actors. The 3D adds to the misery. The first half is still endurable but the second half really tests your patience. The film portrays immaturity and ends in disappointment. The director utterly fails to create the thrill in the audience. This film completely changes the definition of a thriller movie and proved to be a disaster.

You need a lot of popcorn and coke to endure the film in 3D glasses.

Cast: Santosh Barmola, Suzana Rodrigues, Manjari Fadnis, Varun Sharma, Jitin Gulati, Sumit Suri, Madhurima Tuli.

My Rating: 2/10
