When all the lights lie dead and burnt,
And sleep takes long to come,
Come to me O worldly ghost,
Its time our dance begun.
When the seas lie calm and seem unruffled,
And ripples are none to be seen,
I will take your silver brush,
And make the waters gleam.
Fear not for the times that were lost,
When you, I wasn’t beside.
For the night is here for us, to stay,
And will by us abide.
When done are our emboldened strokes,
And the sun marks the next hour,
We will part till morrow’s night,
It is never time to go too far.
