Movie review: Dedh Ishqiya

Rare is a bollywood release that one genuinely looks forward to. Dedh Ishqiya, for sure, is one such atypical film, and certainly not for its capricious title. It is a Indian comedy thriller film.
Out from jail, Khalujaan a.k.a Iftekhar (Naseeruddin Shah) and Babban (Arshad Warsi) have stolen a necklace made of royal jewels and are on the run. They part ways and meet at the palace of the nawab of Mahmudabad, a town in Uttar Pradesh, where Iftekhar is competing with Urdu poets to win the heart of the nawab’s widow Begum Para (Madhuri Dixit). Co-writer and director Abhishek Chaubey delivers a delightfully droll thriller set in an upcountry feudal milieu where adorable rogues and unfettered tricksters have a field day.In fact,Dedh Ishqiya is in many respects
appreciably more enthralling than Ishqiya. And this time, you will come across the SEVEN STAGES OF LOVE in the romantic adventure of the two thieves.
For sure, you will be glued to your seats during the whole two and a half hours of the film. Though urdu mixed the hindi will be a bit tough to catch up with every dialogue but the screenplay and the superb direction has made up for it. People who have not watched the film should watch ,if not for the plot but for the flamboyant acting of Arshad Warsi and the classy Madhuri Dixit. Trust me, I am a Arshad Warsi fan now!!
