Most of you would go for the movie, “The Wolf of Wall Street” just for Leonardo DiCaprio and trust me folks he won’t disappoint you. Those who thought of comedy not being his forte, got it right in their faces as DiCaprio is one of the nominees in the Oscar awards for the best actor this year. He also won the Best Actor in Comedy at the 71st Golden Globe awards 2014 for this movie.
The Wolf of Wall Street is based on the life of Jordan Belfort who was a wealthy but crooked stockbroker. Directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese, this 180 minutes movie has everything: criminal scams, money, drugs, women, sex -and yeah- slang. The staggering bloat aside, there are some hysterically funny scenes, killer dialogue, great performances, and Scorsese-level craftsmanship throughout. A story about how a young juvenile stockbroker meets his cynic and sociopath first-day mentor, McConaughey and gets so influenced and starts his own brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont, where the over flow of cocaine and inspiring speeches keep his 100s of employees to pull in money from their investors. Amazing performances in the movie which stars Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey and Kyle Chandle too.
So the final verdict. Raise your glass to this star-studded Scorsese movie, The Wolf of Wall Street based on this breathtakingly handsome fraudulent millionaire. Enjoy it fellas!
PROS: Leonardo, Scorsese’s direction, few funny moments and the amazing dialogue.
CONS: 180 minutes (I am sure you will keep checking your watch!) and the monotony along the mid-way.
