This is an Ode to the Metal Lords
The lyrics of a song put to life by a band, I listen to it carefully as my hand slides through the screen and I press replay.
Carried away again into a world of ever eternal pain hidden behind the veil of being a ROCK STAR the ultimate gain.
I ponder, more like sympathize over a glass of whisky listening to the sheer insanity within the human nature.
A request goes out from my drunk soul to every note, every beat in the track; ‘what makes u sound flawless so inspiring?’
“My señor has lost his love”, moans the six string and so this feeling of despair and loneliness, he shares with a multitude waiting, wailing to bask in his electric voice filled with inspiring lines.
He plays all night long to publish himself in the Rolling Stones,”for it’s all a game avoiding failure when true colours will bleed’.
Bleed, within is all that has become of him, worshiping dark, feeding on the same for all that is left in him is the need to survive.
Yet among the cradle of filth, the rock star, the victim of an unsatisfied orgy and fame, still searches for meaning to his grief.
And all that he thrives, craves for is a muse to be used in his final song which will squeeze every inch, every essence left in his shrinking mind and soul, to make it a moment and him a legend.
He smokes the last MJ scowling at his dealer for inadequate supplies.
No sooner had the smoke reached his lungs, his chest becomes heavy.
He swings from side to side flinging and fisting his victories, dancing the ‘dance of the dead’, realizing the time has come to end his journey.
Lying flat face down on his acoustic, he brushes his fingers down its wet body; his eyes are misty.
He writes the final verse to his song.
“MILES I HAVE COME AND MILES I HAVE TO GO.
FOR SOME IT’S FOOTPRINTS ON THE SANDS OF TIME
FOR ME IT’S MY TEARS
FOR ME IT’S MY TEARS.”
