42 days and 47 matches later, we have two of the host nations playing an All Asian World Cup Final. I have come across multiple blogs and articles on the world cup and am not gonna dish out facts and bore everyone.
This post is merely to share my views on the one and only Sachin Tendulkar.
This little fellow, is the heart throb of a billion people [1.21 bn to be precise!], he has won almost all the coveted prizes the game could ever offer EXCEPT, the Ultimate Glory in the Beautiful Game.. The World Cup.
To get the body going even after serving over 20 years, the man’s mind is nothing but pure passion for the game. He doesn’t run behind numbers, they are just lost as he transcends to Bradman’s league.
The scene is beautifully set for him. Home ground, possibly last world cup, a convincing one day side to support his mission. But the question which every Indian dreads, Will Sachin retire? There is a limit to which one can push one’s body no matter how much the mind desires.
If India does lift the world cup, If Sachin scores a 100 tomorrow, his 100th ton, IMO, that would be the ideal culmination, to lift the Cup at home, right where he started playing from his school days
It is not a day we look forward to, but it is something each and every Indian prays for.. that he wins the World Cup which he richly deserves.
Tomorrow will be the real test of character for the Indian team, all the efforts over the last month and a half should culminate in cup glory, they need to justify their words [We want to win this for Sachin]with action!

May Be it's destiny.. I had a gut feeling, watching him bat in the match against Pakistan the other day, the retirement question was weighing him down. It would be a culmination of so many things for him, when he achieves that 100th hundred and lifting the cup on his home ground!! What other fairy tale ending can a cricketer ask for??
For a sportsman of his caliber and popularity, calling it off a day (atleast for ODIs) on the top of your form, playing the highest challenge in your own home ground. It cant get any better for Sachin !!

No,sir.Don't go by last match.Remember 2004 Australian series where he struggled against rookies like Brad williams and Nathan Bracken in the first three tests.But what happened in the fourth one..he scored 241* and 50* and gave a fitting reply to them…
Sachin shouldn't hang up his boots now..He should play till he wishes..maybe 1-1.5 years more..We are lucky ones to see him bat.Future generations will miss his heroics….

How would you like to remember your hero? As a frail old man who tried to keep up with youngsters (telling him to give others a chance?) or as a dashing winner, Taking a final bow when he is at his peak (And people asking why now?).
As the BATMAN said: You either die a Hero! Or live long enough to be a Villain!
We have been privileged to see a hero, let him chose his time before he becomes a villain!!

Sir,it's just one innings in which he struggled.In rest of the matches,he was fine and dominating-remember those 100s against SA and England and even 50 against Aussies….??
Maybe the pressure of semi-final got to him,but still his 84 runs are useful on that pitch which is difficult to bat…
Except Viru,no one in the team bats as comfortably as Sachin does now…The so-called cool captain is worse than tail-ender Harbhajan Singh.It looks like he plays only for improving his average by remaining not out.Remember that match against SA in which he gave strike to Munaf and Nehra and remained not out????He will be in team as long as that lady luck smiles upon him…..
