How to Download Aadhar Card

Aadhar is a 12 – digit novel identity number issued to all the residents of India by the Unique Identification Authority of India. The Aadhar card is utilized as both identification proof and residential proof of a person. It is being widely utilized by the Indian government to dispense benefits under different government plans to the general population. After enrolling for the Aadhar card, one can download E – Aadhar Card from the UIDAI site.

With the advent of M-Adhaar app on the google play store recently, this process has become much easier.

There are three ways in which a person can download the E – Aadhar card i.e.

  • Aadhar Card download with aadhar number
  • Aadhar Card download with enrolment number
  • Aadhar Card download by name and date of birth

Steps to download Aadhar Card with Aadhar number:

  • Open the official UIDAI website
  • Then head to the Aadhar Online services section
  • Open the list under Aadhar enrolment and click on the Download Aadhar Option
  • It will redirect you to another page called Download E – Aadhar
  • In the section that says enter your personal details select the Aadhar option
  • Then enter your details like Aadhar number, Full name as registered in your Aadhar, Pin code of your address as registered in your Aadhar
  • Enter the captcha image
  • If you have the mAadhar App, then opt for ‘I have TOTP, Do not send OTP’
  • If you don’t have the app then click on “Request OTP” option.
  • You will receive the OTP on your registered mobile number
  • Enter the 6 digit OTP
  • Click on ‘Download Aadhar’.
  • Your e – Aadhar card will be downloaded in a PDF format

Steps to download Aadhar Card with enrolment number (EID)

  • Open the official UIDAI website.
  • Click on the ‘Aadhaar Online Services’.
  • Open the list under ‘Aadhaar Enrolment’ and select ‘Download Aadhaar’.
  • It will redirect to another page
  • In the ‘Enter your Personal Details’ section select ‘Enrolment ID’.
  • Enter the 24 digit Enrolment number and the 14 digit date-time stamp printed on the Enrolment slip.
  • After that enter your full name as registered in your Aadhaar.
  • Enter pin code of your address as registered in your Aadhar.
  • Enter the captcha image.
  • If you have the mAadhar App, then opt for “ I have TOTP, Do not send OTP”.
  • If you don’t have the app then click on “Request OTP” option.
  • You will receive the OTP on your registered mobile number
  • Enter the 6 digit OTP
  • Click on ‘Download Aadhar’.
  • Your e – Aadhar card will be downloaded in a PDF format

Steps to download Aadhar Card by name and date of birth

  • Open the official UIDAI website.
  • Click on ‘Download Aadhaar’.
  • It will redirect you to another page
  • Enter your full name and either your registered e-mail id or mobile number
  • Enter the captcha image.
  • If you have the mAadhar App, then opt for ‘I have TOTP, Do not send OTP’.
  • If you don’t have the app then click on “Request OTP” option.
  • You will receive the OTP on your registered mobile number
  • Enter the 6 digit OTP
  • Click on ‘Download Aadhar’, for Aadhar card download by name and date of birth

Aadhar Card Download Password

The e – Aadhar Card is password protected and the Aadhar card download password consists of 8 characters, which is fundamentally the initial four letters of your name and the last four letters are the digits of year of birth. For instance – ‘MONA2012’. The Aadhar card download password ensures the security of Aadhar card of a citizen and pervents its miuse.
