Django Unchained Movie Review: 4.5/5

If you are a movie lover who is 18 years old or above, and have still not seen this movie, I have a word of advice: WATCH IT NOW. Starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel Jackson in major roles, Quentin Tarantino has come up with yet another mind-blowing story and direction which bedazzles you for the complete 165 minutes.

This movie is set in the year 1858, where the blacks were treated as slaves in South America. The film is about a slave Django (Foxx) who is freed by a bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Waltz). They travel across America and after a successful stint of bounty hunting they go to Washington to free Django’s wife from a cruel and charismatic plantation owner Calvin J. Candie (DiCaprio).

Apart from the gripping story, the acting from all the actors is brilliant. This is one of those movies where you forget that all the characters are in fact actors in real life. My favorite acting performance in the movie was by Christoph Waltz, who after playing the cruel military general in Inglorious Bastards, pulled off his role as a supporting actor to perfection.

The story builds up to a wonderful climax and then comes Quentin’s gunfire that gives you Goosebumps. The music track in the movie is beautifully composed and there are several existing songs as well which have been used aptly.

Just so you know, there is excessive profanity in the movie, like any other Quentin Tarantino film. The usage of the word ‘N*gger’ is extensive.

Yes. I know that the movie has not released in India yet. You can wait if you have the patience or else go to www.movie2k.to to watch it online and in good quality.

For the excellent story, nail biting action sequences and an unforgettable direction I give the movie a rating of 4.5/5.
