Daughters’ Day special: Re-living the Disney days!

Saturday night

There is this one half who spends it lost in the midst of booze and partying and there is this other half who decide to have a slumber party and a horror movie-night and then there’s me! Well I was on my ‘lappy’ busy scrolling through Youtube in search of some entertainment. After getting totally bored and having listened to my whole of  ‘favourites’ playlist on the iTunes, I had this really strong urge to watch ‘Tangled’. The day before I was ridiculed for not yet having watched this amazing Disney movie in spite of being a hardcore Disney fan. So ultimately, I had to watch it just then and there.

1.03 AM! I climbed up to the 7th floor to get this 1.79 GB movie in my unrivalled pen-drive. Disney movies are one of a kind and no matter how old you grow you can never be tired of it. Moreover, these are bound to alleviate your inner self and cheer you up. Disney is a part of everyone’s childhood. We all grew up with the Walt Disney mascot Mickey Mouse, his amazing friend Donald Duck, the pretty Minnie, hilarious Goofy, cute and classy Daisy, and the faithful pet Pluto. Whether you watched the Disney cartoons or the Disney movies, you have enjoyed every bit of back then and even now.

Watching 100 minutes of non-stop Disney midnight magic, I couldn’t resist myself from writing this article. The opening sequence when the Walt Disney logo label appeared and the orchestra started playing simply charged me up in the midnight. The opening scene with the husky male voice’s narration about the birth of the lost princess, Rapunzel and then the story starting off with the cute opening number “When will my life begin?” made me wonder about the magic Disney creates in the mind of its viewers. The entry of the charming Flynn Rider and his transformation from an arrogant, self-centered person to a passionate love-interest of Rapunzel who even willingly gives away his life to save Rapunzel is what makes this movie a total heart-touching one. Not to forget his famous ‘smolder’ that works (almost) every time. Call it my emotional outburst at 3 am in the morning or just the Disney love, the last part of the movie made my heart stop but thanks to the healing incantation, it started pulsating back again.

Be it any Disney animated movie- Tangled, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Toy Story, Peter Pan, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, Up, Robin Hood, Pinocchio or the Disney live action television series- That’s so Raven, Lizzie McGuire, The Suite life of Zack and Cody, Power Rangers, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Jonas, Sonny with a Chance, So Weird, Phil of the Future, a die hard fan of Disney owes his/her awesome childhood to these. I am a die hard fan of Disney. Are you?

On this Daughters’ Day, re-live your childhood with the Disney characters. Trust me, you are bound to experience the magic.
