It’s time to introduce you all to the sports culture at Manipal University Jaipur. There is a club in the college initiating all the sports activities.
SPORTISTA
Sportista welcomes all sports enthusiasts every year to encourage sportsmanship. The club has various events under its umbrella. In collaboration with the Student Council it organizes a Marathon Event every year on National Sports Day. Apart from this, the club conducts in-house sports events, inter block competitions, races, and fun events like Futsal and Gully Cricket.
The club is open not only for people who are well trained in their various sports domains, but also, for people who look forward to sports and enjoy it in its true spirit, motivating more and more people for an overall fit outlook to life.
Apart from Sportista there are teams of all the major sports. Separate tracks/courts/grounds for all the sports are there in the College as well as in the Hostel. Some of the sports teams also have able Coaches/Trainers to guide them.
The teams/players of these sports represent our college in various Intercollege and State Level Tournaments.
PS: We don’t have a girls team for Football, Cricket and Kabaddi.
There is an Indoor Sports Arena which includes TT, Squash and Pool Table which is open for everyone with a minimal charge on the squash court. Behind every block there are badminton, tennis, basketball, volleyball courts as well for the purpose of recreation of hostelers.
Last, but not the least, I would like to introduce our Sports Fest, Abhivarta. It’s a 2-3 day fest which fills the college with zest about a month ago. From January there are many small in-house events conducted frequently followed by the head on tournaments of all the sports where participants from both MUJ and out-house colleges compete with each other.
In conclusion, the trials for the teams as well as registrations for Sportista start from the month of August.
