Over the years, the department has evolved into a centre for excellence providing in-depth knowledge. The
department provides opportunities for innovation and research with well-equipped computer facilities and
dedicated faculty, who apart from their regular teaching schedule, are actively involved in pursuing research in
various areas like Data Mining, Video Coding, Network Security and Knowledge Engineering.
The department of MCA believes in preparing the students to meet the challenges of the industrial demands
thereby enhancing their employability quotient and sustainability in the highly competitive and ever-evolving
environment of the Information Technology industry.
About the Workshop
In the present day scenario, IT has become an integral part of everyday business and private life. New technologies no doubt give unprecedented functionality however they also introduce new risks and an environment harder to control. Increased dependency on IT means higher impact when things go wrong.
There is increasing concern about the privacy of information and business losses due to security breach and hence the need to understand and deal with various issues related to lapses in information security. In addition, raising awareness about this becomes paramount.
This workshop deliberates on the recent trends in tackling information security threats while attempting to kindle interest towards research in the vital area of information security. A hands-on lab session dealing with
security parameters for CIA using network simulation tools will be the highlight of this workshop.
The resource persons are experts from the industry and academia.
Objectives of the Workshop
The workshop aims at creating an interactive platform for exchange of ideas from personnel of the academia and industry covering most of the aspects of information security from the organizational or individual perspectives.
