Lost – A Poem by Sohini Mukherjee

lost
Along the roads,
Beside the rubble,
Amongst the crowd
Beyond the horizon

Have we lost what meant the most
Or have we treasured what we need

Along the roads,
Beside the rubble,
Amongst the crowd
Beyond the horizon

Have we lost what meant the most
Or have we treasured what we need

Have we accepted it
Or have we imposed it

Do we want it
Or do we need it

This is the truth?
Or is this decorated?

For I ask you again my friend,
I being your heart
For you rarely spare time for me.
