Familiar Faces

Dawdling about your daily life

In a surfeit of strangers

You see a group of friends

Laughing and talking

Embellishing the bustling town.

Subtly makes you ruminate

About those “friends” you used to have

Now just familiar faces

The silent spectators.

Vivid memories, irrelevant, but still there,

Woven around the ghost of those faces.

On a beguiling summer evening

Content with who you are,

You let them be and let them wane,

Amusing, isn’t it?

This affair with irrelevant, familiar faces.
