Eating red meat may stimulate your body’s natural processes. As a result, it causes difficulty in sleeping especially after you have a hard working day.

If you want to eat some pieces of pizza before bedtime, you should think again. The cheese topping may cause your nightmares. The acidic tomato sauce may give you tummy aches. People who eat pizza before bedtime have to go to the bathroom frequently. Furthermore, pizza is considered as an unhealthy snack because it adds a lot of unwanted calories to your body and leads to rapid weight gain.

Coffee increases the concentration and working performance if it is drunk in the right time. It is recommended drinking a cup of coffee in the early morning to get enough energy for your all working day. However, drinking coffee in the evening leads to sleeplessness and sleep disorders. If there is a close association between your sleep loss and caffeine intake, you should not consume any cups of coffee later than 6 hours before sleeping.

Vegetables are rich in fiber. A large amount of fiber may moves slowly through the digestive system, which causes discomfort in your stomach.  This is a reason why eating vegetables may make you awake longer.

Pasta is one of the best foods  if you are hungry. Eating pasta can make your stomach feel full longer. However, pasta should not be eaten late at night. When your stomach is full, it is difficult for you to fall into sleep. Furthermore, eating pasta late at night can make you gain weight because pasta is rich in carbohydrates that turn to fat quickly in your body.

  1. Sugary Cereal

Sometimes a bowl of cereal before bedtime can stop your hunger and food cravings. It is recommended choosing a high-fiber, low-sugar kind such as bran flakes and Cheerios. Sugary cereal should not be eaten before bedtime. By digesting rapidly in your system, sugary cereals lead to the sudden spike in the blood sugar level in your body. That spike in blood sugar may have adverse effects on sleep hormones. Furthermore, there is a close link between low-fiber diets with lighter sleep.

If you like spicy foods, you should not eat them before bedtime. Eating spicy foods may irritate the stomach and lead to heartburn. As a result, you may experience difficulty in falling asleep after consuming spicy foods.
