Top 10 Science Fiction Movies

  1. Star Wars – The whole trilogy is simply the best of it’s kind which is the reason it is incredibly popular.  There is a whole Star Wars culture out there dedicated to these great films.
  1. Jurassic Park – This movie is great because the director did such a fine job of making it believable.  From the special effects to the script to the cast, this film is a masterpiece.  Starring Sam Neill and Laura Dern.
  1. E.T. – More heartwarming than most sci-fi classics, this movie appeals to a broad range of people.  There is no threat on mankind but there is a personal account of a cute alien.  Starring Dee Wallace Stone and Peter Coyote.
  1. Men in Black – This movie is loved because it has a bit of comedy that isn’t ironic or goofy but clever and dry.  It’s about aliens who live on earth as humans and the threat some pose.  Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.
  1. The Matrix – The fight scenes have been copied over and over but are never as intense as in this movie.  The Matrix has captivated audiences with it’s complicated plot and scientific theories.  Starring Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss.
  1. Independence Day – An ordinary 4th of July turns into a day no one will ever forget as alien life surfaces on the planet Earth and government officials must make quick decisions.  Starring Will Smith and Bill Pullman.
  1. The Terminator –  In the year 2029, the rulers of the earth send The Terminator back in time to kill a woman who has no idea that she will bare a child who will have a role in shaping the future.  Starring Arnold Shwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton.
  1. Waterworld – Global warming has melted polar ice caps and the only civilization that remains are floating cities which are threatened by “Smokers” or pirates.  Only the Mariner can save these cities.  Starring Kevin Costner and Chaim Jerrafi.
