The Good that a Burglar Can Bring – Theatre on the Lawns at MCPH Manipal

The Manipal Center for Philosophy and Humanities (MCPH) will stage Dario Fo’s Virtuous Burglar on March 29, 2014, at 7:30 PM. The play will be staged on the central lawns of the new building, and will be the first public event to inaugurate the lawns as a cultural space.

The one-act comedy is set in a living room where a burglar is interrupted in his burgling by a couple who have secrets of their own. In the confusion caused, through multiple mistaken identities, revealed secrets, and misheard names, the burgling in completely forgotten, until a second burglar steals into the flat. Now staged more than fifty years later, the hour-long play remains a comedy as hilarious as it was when it was first staged in Italian.

The production will be open to the public, and will have free entry.
