Moments.

I was sitting by the window today and it suddenly started raining so heavily I could hardly see the building next door. That’s Manipal rains for you. And then within the next five minutes it had stopped. There is something more to this than just unexpected rains. There are moments in your life. We have them and then we don’t. They slip by like sand in your fingers. Nothing is ever constant, and we sit and talk about all that lost time, all those games we didn’t win, that exam you didn’t clear, that boy who got away. But what you really had to do, was take what you have at that moment and turn it into the best you ever could.

They say all great things happen over a long period. They are wrong. The biggest things in life happen in the blink of an eye – in a moment. You were a kid yesterday and today you are an adult. You don’t get to play dress up and play the role of an adult anymore, because at this moment – “Today”, you are responsible for your actions. Nobody but you is going to be accountable for your decisions. Responsibility, it’s a daunting thing. When you don’t have anyone to blame for, when your future is in your hands, its gonna freak you out – the mere thought of it makes me tremble. And when you make a mistake, you’re never forgiven. But what we need to learn is to accept that we can be wrong.

Life-Is-About-Moments-Dont-Wait-For-Them-Create-Them

Too often the one thing our heart desires the most is the one thing which we can’t get. And that is going to leave you heart-broken and hopeless. But its at this moment that you pick the broken pieces and mend them together, to make sense of what’s happening and the reason it’s happening. I firmly believe that everything that happens, happens for a reason. The sun shines so that the world sustains, you have friends to make life easier, you fall in love because it’s an amazing feeling to be with somebody who shares your thoughts and fears. So, if something goes wrong, don’t give up, accept it for what it is and move on.

I know it scares you, the thought of what is going to happen tomorrow. Will you make it? Will you get that offer? Will you be where you think you want to be? But there is no point right, thinking about all this? Because, the truth is we never truly know what we want to do. As human beings we are so susceptible to changing our minds, that nothing, no plan or decision is ever concrete. I wanted to be an astronaut when I was in the fifth grade, and then by ninth I wanted to be a psychiatrist and today here I am doing electronics engineering. So, there is no point in worrying of what may happen or what you think will happen, because all its going to do is give you a bad headache.

Paranoia is like a parasite, the more you feed it, the more it gets adapted to you.

Moments, they come and go like the wind in a summer island. One instant, they give you a reason to smile, the next they take that away from you.

Jodi Picoult said “Do you know how there are moments when the world moves so slowly you can feel your bones shifting, your mind tumbling? When you think that no matter what happens to you for the rest of your life, you will remember every last detail of that one minute forever?

If this is has ever happened to you, hold onto it. Hold on to it so tightly that you’ll never let go of it. It’s the only thing you will have at the end of all this.

  1. I can totally relate to the times where even moments seemed to last for an eternity! Thought provoking. 😀
