ManipalBlog.com was launched in May 2007 with a focus on exploring what it means to be a Manipalite in a world where Manipalites are everywhere, doing everything, and opining about their world. Do political, social, religious, ethnic boundaries matter online? Could we bring together the very best writers, bloggers, critics and provide them a forum to articulate their views about the new world, a transnational, opportunity-rich space?
Founded by just two enthusiastic Post Graduate students of KMC, Manipal, – Dr.Vishaal Bhat and Dr. Prabhav Trivedi – today, ManipalBlog.com has over 60 contributors, with a wide range of topics being discussed on the blog. Bloggers from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Kasturba Medical College – Manipal and Mangalore (KMC), Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC), Manipal School of Architecture Planning (MSAP), Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), Manipal School of Nursing (MCONS), Manipal Life Sciences Center (MLSC) , Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC), Manipal College of Dental Sciences – Manipal and Mangalore (MCODS), Manipal College of Information Sciences (MCIS) students from institutes such as NITTE, residents of Manipal, and people from India and other nationalities are part of this initiative!
We’ve published over 1500 articles, 2000+ comments, and have a regular readership that grows constantly. We’ve had over 11,300,000 visitors and 4.5 million hits since we launched in May 2007. The articles from our excellent writers are only the beginning. Readers and commenters chime in to create an ongoing unrestricted dialogue that often goes beyond the original dimensions of the article.
For Manipal students, by Manipal students, explore, express, lose and find yourself in Manipal, through ManipalBlog, was our motto. It now encompasses a whole new meaning..
