The complexity of being simple!

“Everything is simpler than you think and at the same time more complex than you imagine.”
– Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Often I find myself in the usual conundrum of seeking a simple life. Well I do not mean a frugal life or a straight line with a certain predictable pattern. I mean, like everyone, I seek ways to simplify and make it easy to cope up with certain pressures. I do see the ups and down in question but somehow I wish the stress could be compressed or folded into something ‘manageable’. Wishful thinking.

We all often find ourselves enmeshed in the web of life pressurized by constraints and external variables, although we would envisage ourselves to be Howard Roark. In matters of people, the complexity is more stark since seeking simplicity in what is living and what is natural is akin to looking for a needle in a haystack. I do not believe anyone is simple. Complex Life

Amoeba is considered to be simple, although there are inherent complexities in fully understanding this simplest form of life, as biologists would verify.

There is inherent beauty in complex things – Like the joy to unravel it. Like the joy of knowing that the complex has evolved from a simpler being. Like the effort to disintegrate the complex structure into simpler parts. When dealing with human beings – the higher, evolved apex of food chain, there are bound to be complexities. So ask myself again, are all the complexities in my life due to the complex human nature?

I do not know exactly, I cannot quantify how much complexity enters into my life-system due to my complex thoughts as opposed to the complex thinking of others.

One thing is however sure, my life seems much simpler If I accept the fact that it is complex and there lies its charm.
