Tips on Settling Down in Manipal for 4 Years

Through this post, I shall try to make Manipal a better place for you guys, one step at a time.

I (well I guess not just me, pretty much everyone) hate it when some people socialize only with other people of their own culture/state/language. I have found this a problem, especially, with people from the south. Now trust me, I love people from the south.

Though I have lived my entire life in the north, my family is south Indian, I am a south Indian and I speak Malayalam at home, so you can trust me when I say I have nothing against any south Indian. But I have seen a lot of people who come from the south make friends and hang out only with other people from their own state and hardly mingle with others. And I’m not saying that each one of you do so, of course not, though a lot of you do. Is that Sewer Water - Manipal Holi

Now, I do understand that being in a group with people from your own state puts you in a comfort zone that you might not be in otherwise, but this defeats the purpose of coming to a vibrant college like Manipal instead of a local college in your state. Manipal has people from all over the country, so try to socialize with everyone. This, I assure you, will help you in getting the complete Manipal experience which you will otherwise miss out on.

Please do not alienate yourselves or others. Just my opinion. Peace.
