What to Bring to Manipal from home:

  • Bedsheets – 2
  • Pillow covers – 3
  • Blankets (if you are shifting into an AC room) if not bring light ones.
  • Alarm clock
  • Curtains – 2
  • Spare laptop bag (If you already have one)
  • Clothes – Lots of T-shirts/shirts and shorts (they will always be wet either due to sweat or rain)
  • Strong umbrella (Not the foldable ones and preferably with skeletons) – Most Important Item.
  • Table lamp
  • Old neswpapers – 3 to 4 (to lay on your racks)
  • Strong pair of chappals and/or floaters (Water resistant)
  • Good walking shoes (Sports shoes for general use)
  • College bag
  • Any sports equipment (Cricket/ Football / Swimming / Hockey / Squah etc.)
  • Camera (You will have many memories later, especially take pictures in the first year)
  • Pendrive (And a good external hard drive)
  • Good pair of earphones
  • Basic utensils (Plate(s) ,katori , tumbler , spoon(s) etc.)
  • Spare spectacles (if you wear them)
  • An electric kettle (comes very handy for Tea/Coffee/Maggi during late night sessions)
  • Sweatshirt (For overnight trips to nearby places)
  • Mid sized backpack / small air-bag for trips to nearby places.
  • Cap
  • Sunglasses
  • Formal wear – 2 Sets
  • Ethnic wear (Kurtas / Saris etc.) – 1 PAIR
  • Towels – 2(Big) , 2(hand towel) Minimum
  • First aid kit (keep an antifungal cream in it – most important)
  • Nail cutter
  • Lip balm
  • A folder with all important documents
  • A set of old clothes (comes in handy to wear during holi or a trip to the beach or during your birthday)
  • Scientific calculator (If you already have one – If you don’t have one, you can always get a second hand one at Manipal)
