1. Saleem Javed, Karate and Manipal University – Explain.
Saleem Javed Completed his SSLC in Govt Fisheries School Malpe. He Joined Christian PU college Udupi for PUC and has Obtained 1st Rank in the college. He Completed his B.A in English Literature recently in MGM College Udupi. He was Selected as Working President Of the Students Welfare Council in MGM college during its Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.Presently he is pursuing his Masters in English Literature Under Directorate of Distance Education. He works at MARENA Indoor Sports Complex of Manipal University as fitness trainer and engages karate classes twice in a week at Flowers of Paradise Public School,Malpe. He has also enabled his students to reach State Level and get laurels for the district as well as the school.
Javed has received many felicitations from different organisations. To mention a few, he was Conferred with the prestigious “Emerging Sportsperson of the year Award 2011” by Talent Research Foundation,Mangalore. On August 15th, he was felicitated and conferred with the District Sports Award 2011 by Former Minister of Karnataka Late Dr.V S Acharya. Recently he was also congratulated by Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka D.V Sadananda Gowda at his official residence in Bangalore for winning medals for India at the International Level.The Chancellor of Manipal University, Padmabhushan Dr.Ramdas Pai also appreciated Mr.Saleem Javed for his achievements. His keen interest to Master one of the finest Martial Art and his dedication towards the sport is sure to bring more fame to our Nation.
2. What does Manipal and ManipalBlog mean to you?
Manipal has always been second home to me as I Stay in Malpe which is not so far from Manipal . Well ManipalBlog is a voice of Manipal University* which enables us to know about the happenings in the University and ManipalBlog is only site which comes in my mind in this matter.

3. How does it feel to represent India.
Being a sportsman I always dreamt of representing my country during my Initial stages and I am glad that I got an opportunity to hold our TriColour high. It’s a special feeling which cannot be described by words.
4. What achievements are you proud of?
I am proud being a good citizen 1st of all and whatever medals I have won in karate for my country makes me feel good
5. How does it feel to work at MARENA and what do you do here?
MARENA is an awesome sports complex what we have in Manipal. It’s a real treat for all sports lovers and for the people who are very concerned about Health and Fitness. I work here as a trainer at the Gymnasium and working here has been great with good atmosphere and nice people around to interact everyday. Good experience overall.
