Untitled – Souradeep Roy

These mosquitoes twirl around

hunting in a pair of two.

Short of blood, I move away.

It’s amazing how they’d follow.

Never let me go. Never.

(What a companion, albeit a blood-sucking one,

we humans have, to evade loneliness!)

Too bad only the primitive desires,

which feeds on a solitary erection,

comes to my defense.

I slap my tiny little friend.

It twitches.

I hope it’s alive.
