Fixtures to watch out for:

Manchester United vs Chelsea

Early in the season, such a big clash. Clash of the titans – a game which surely will have an affect on who wins the title this season.

Manchester United have been playing some exuberant football since the start of the season. Mid week game against Benefica was the only one in which they couldn’t score the available 3 points and had to settle for a draw. Even then, Sir Alex has managed to see some fantastic things via that game. Veteran Ryan Giggs who scored a stunning equalizer adds on to the selection worries ahead of the crucial tie against Chelsea at Old Trafford.  Rooney has been in sublime form off late. Scoring 2 hatrick’s in continuous weeks and also 2 goals while on international duty he has been untouchable. Chelsea’s back 4 will some real thinking to do as to how to deal with the deadly guy. The issue with United will be that of the back 4. With Vidic out due to calf injury, his replacement Evans has not done such a great job. There has been loop holes there and Sir Alex will surely be aware of this.

Chelsea on the other hand have had a nice slow start to the premier league this season. Under the new manager Andre Villa Boas they surely have made an impact. With some fantastic talents they have displayed some quality attacking football. Against Bayern Levurkusen, Andre Villas Boas rested some of his top players and fielded the likes of Sturridge, Malouda. Torres and Mata too started up front and it really did have an impact. Torres surely had made an impact in the Champions League tie at Stamford Bridge. Even though he did not score, he set up 2 important goals and the second one showing some quality which he possesses, which had disappeared since his arrival at the Bridge. Drogba still a doubt to this game. I personally would want, Sturridge and Torres to start up front along with Juan Mata. Bosingwa on the other hand has played brilliantly on the flanks delivering in quality balls into the 6 yard box.

A nail biting encouter this is gonna be with the home team surely having and upper hand over the two teams. Anything can happen, with the first team to score sure to get a major boost through the rest of the match.

My Prediction: 2-1 to Manchester United (P.S: Would love to see this prediction overturned 😛 )

Tottenham vs Liverpool

Harry Redknapp‘s men have been on a low ever since the start of the season. With the arrival of Emanuel Adebayor from Manchester City and the win against Molineux stadium against Wolves where Adebayor opened the scoring for Spurs, and also playemaker Modric staying put at White Hart Lane, the mental state of the team would surely have come to some sort of balance. They would surely want to get all 3 points from this game.

Kenny Daglish’s men on the other hand suffered a loss to Stoke City away from home. Yes, they lost the game. It was a shocker indeed. With such quality midfield which Kenny possesses, with a opposition like Stoke they must have pulled it. But they couldn’t. They would surely want to get back on track and they face a stern opposition. With the quality which Liverpool they, they would be hard to breakdown. This game would be a battle at midfield.

My Prediction: Going against the odds – Spurs to win it 1-0.

Fulham vs Manchester City

Fulham under Martin Jol. Once upon a time, when Jol was the manager of Tottenham he created wonders. Can he reproduce the same at Fulham? As of now, he has not been able to do it. They are deep down the table at 18th position. Everything possible has gone wrong for Fulham with just 2 points from the available 12. Big worry is this week they entertain the GOAL MACHINE Manchester City.

City have just demolished every possible opposition that have come their way since the start of the season. The goal difference of +12 suggests it all. Even though this will be an away for the Manchester club, they would rejoice going there. Morale of the opposition is low and morale of their own team is boiling high. A clear goal fest again on the cards at Fulham.

My Prediction: 3-1 to City.

Don’t miss the Super Sunday game between Manchester United and Chelsea! The fixture to watch out for this weekend.

Have a great weekend folks.

Cheers
Muki
